🏹 What a fantastic day of archery at Prestwick! 🏹
Today we hosted two full UKRS competitions — a Portsmouth in the morning followed by a WA18 in the afternoon — and what a turnout! 🎯
We welcomed archers from all over Scotland, with competitors travelling from Mull, Buchan and many places in between. It was brilliant to see both familiar faces and new competitors on the shooting line.
🏆 Fantastic results for Prestwick St Cuthbert members
There were plenty of Personal Bests, medals and strong performances throughout the day:
🏹 Recurve
- Janet – Silver, Recurve 50+ Portsmouth & a Personal Best
- Jane – Gold, Recurve 50+ Portsmouth & a Personal Best
- Laura – 🥇 Gold, U21 Portsmouth with a score that also beat the Senior Ladies’ score, followed by another 🥇 Gold in the WA18!
- Dylan – Personal Best and Bronze medal
🏹 Barebow
- Paul – 🥈 Silver, Portsmouth
- Craig – 🥈 Silver, WA18
🏹 Compound 50+
- Maree – 🥇 Gold, WA18
- Alastair – 🥈 Silver, WA18
- Craig – 🥉 Bronze, WA18 and 🥈 Silver, Portsmouth
🏹 Other fantastic performances
- Lara – 🥇 Gold in the WA18 and 🥈 Silver in the Portsmouth
- David – 4th place finish
- Janet, Jane, Davie and Dylan all achieved Personal Bests 🎯
It was particularly encouraging to see new club members stepping onto the competition line for the first time. We hope today gives them the confidence to come back and enjoy many more competitions in the future. 👏
A special shout-out to Lara, who showed great determination dealing with a few minor equipment issues during the day and still came away with Gold and Silver! 💪🏹
🙌 A HUGE team effort
Competitions like these simply don’t happen without everyone pulling together.
