How Cuthbert Came To Be

Way back in the prehistoric days of the club…

(long before carbon arrows, fancy stabilisers, and decent tea breaks…)

There were two archers.

They absolutely LOVED shooting.

Rain? Shooting.

Wind? Shooting.

Midgies? Still shooting.

There was just one tiny problem…

Their arms were… how shall we put this…

Economical.

Compact.

Suspiciously dinosaur-like.

In fact, when they came to full draw, the only known species they resembled was a Tyrannosaurus Rex attempting target archery.

Short draw length.

Big enthusiasm.

Tiny wings.

The rest of the club looked on and said,

“Right… we need a mascot.”

And thus — without any dramatic fossil discoveries,

without a secret dinosaur excavation in the local park,

without a single ancient bone being unearthed…

Cuthbert was born.

Not from a prehistoric burial ground.

Not from a Jurassic dig site.

Just two archers.

Two bows.

And two hilariously short T-Rex arms.

And that, ladies and gentlemen,

is how a dinosaur became better at archery than the humans who inspired him. 🦖🏹
